- How do
the Unlimited plans from Tata Indicom Broadband work?
A. The Unlimited offering gives you the freedom to surf for
as many hours in a day or as much of data transfer within the
day as you want, by deducting a certain charge per day, and also
allows you to use all the value added features of Tata Indicom
Broadband.
There is a rate per day associated with each Unlimited plan, which
will get deducted from your account at 00:00 hrs each day. You
will be able to enjoy Unlimited High Speed Internet access per
day till the validity of your Unlimited plan
Depending on the Unlimited plan you choose, your plan value would
be credited to your account, which you can use for accessing any
of the value added services on Tata Indicom Broadband like Net
Telephony, Roaming Dial Up, etc. You will be charged as per usage
for these services and the value will be deducted from your account
balance.
Your Unlimited plan will expire either due to value or due to
validity, whichever is earlier.
- Is
there any restriction on the number of hours of High Speed Internet
access possible per day on the Unlimited plans?
A. No. There is no restriction on the number of hours which
you would be able to access per day on your Unlimited plan. You
will have Unlimited High Speed Internet access, till the validity
or value of your plan expires (whichever is earlier).
- How will
the validity of the Unlimited plans work?
A. The validities of the Unlimited plans have been configured
as 30 days, 90 days and 360 days depending on the plan chosen
by you. Your Unlimited account would be valid till the above mentioned
days, depending on the plan you purchase, unless the value in
your Unlimited account gets exhausted earlier due to usage of
value added services.
- What is
the minimum balance, at any point of time, which I need to have
in my Unlimited account to avail of the services?
A. You would at any time (during the validity period of your
Unlimited plan), require to have a balance equal to or greater
than the rate per day of your Unlimited plan.
For example, if you are on a On & On 1 - 64 plan, you can
use the account value of Rs. 800 for Unlimited High Speed Internet
access till the validity of 30 days. But, if your account value
at 00:00 hrs on any day is less than Rs. 26.67(the rate per day
of the On & On 1 - 64 plan), due to usage of Net Telephony
(for example), your account will become inactive. You will need
to renew your Unlimited plan to connect using your Tata Indicom
Broadband account.
- Show me
a sample working of how an Unlimited account will be debited for
usage of High Speed Internet access and other value added services.
A. If you have renewed with an On & On 1 - 64 plan of
Tata Indicom Broadband, following are the plan details:
a. Value of the plan: Rs. 800
b. Validity of the plan: 30 days
c. Rate per day of the plan: Rs. 26.67
Note: The amount of Rs. 26.67 per day would continue to get debited
from your account from the date it gets activated, irrespective
of usage.
If you have used your Unlimited account for the first 10 days
only for High Speed Internet access, your account status would
be as follows, at 00:00 Hrs on the 11th day:
a. Amount deducted: Rs. 266.70
b. Balance value in the account: Rs. 533.30
c. Balance validity of the account: 20 days
If for the next 10 days you use 5 minutes of Net Telephony calls
per day to USA, following would be your account status, at 00:00
Hrs on the 21st day:
a. Amount deducted for Broadband Internet access: Rs. 266.70
b. Usage amount deducted for Net Telephony @ Rs. 2.99 per minute:
149.50
c. Balance value in the account: Rs. 117.1
d. Balance validity of the account : 10 days
If for the next 4 days, you use your account only for High Speed
Internet access, following will the account status, at 00:00 Hrs
on the 24th Day:
a. Amount deducted for Broadband Internet access: Rs. 106.68
b. Balance value in the account: Rs. 10.42
d. Balance validity of the account: 6 days
Even though you have 6 days of balance validity left in your account,
the balance value in your account is Rs. 10.42, which is lesser
than the rate per day of On & On 1 - 64, i.e. Rs. 26.67.
Hence, your account will become inactive on the 24th Day of the
month and you will need to renew it to access Tata Indicom Broadband
services.
- If I am
on an Time-based or Volume-based plan (all the existing prepaid
plans of Tata Indicom Broadband based on a rate per hour/ rate
per MB) customer of Tata Indicom Broadband, can I renew using
an Unlimited plan?
A. Yes. The Unlimited renewal plans can be used to renew any
of the Tata Indicom Broadband plans ( Time-based, Volume based
or Unlimited plan). However, unlike in the case of Volume based
/ Time based to Volume Based / Time based plan renewals, an anticipatory
renewal option will be given for all renewals for a Time-based/Volume
based plans with an Unlimited plan.
Anticipatory renewals mean that the renewals done for any of the
Time-based/Volume based plans with an Unlimited plan would come
into effect, post the validity/value expiry of your Time-based/Volume
based plan. For e.g - if your Current Time-based/Volume based
plan is due for expiry on 30th April and you renew with an Unlimited
Plan on 20th April - your Unlimited plan will get activated only
from 1st May ( provided you did not use any value-added feature
and your plan lasted till the expiry date of 30th April)
- If my
first renewal plan is an Unlimited plan and I want to renew it
with a Tata Indicom Broadband Time-based / Volume based plan,
will it be possible?
A.Yes. You will be able to renew any of the Unlimited plans with
a Time-based / Volume based plan. An anticipatory renewal option
will be given for all renewals for an Unlimited plan with a Time-based
/ Volume based plan. Anticipatory renewals mean that the renewals
done for any of the Unlimited plans with a Time-based / Volume
based plan would come into effect, post the validity/value expiry
of your Unlimited plan.
- How will
I know when the plan that is renewed by way of anticipatory renewal
becomes active?
You will be sent a mail to your Tata Indicom Broadband mail account
when your current plan expires and when the plan that you renewed
by way of anticipatory renewal gets activated.
- Will all
the value added services available on the Time-based / Volume
based plans be available on the Unlimited plans? Is there a different
process to subscribe to the value added services of Tata Indicom
Broadband on Unlimited plans?
A. All the existing value added services available on the Time-based
/ Volume based plans of Tata Indicom Broadband are available on
Unlimited plans also. There is no separate process for subscribing
to these services on an Unlimited plan. All the current processes
for activating value added services on Tata Indicom Broadband
Time-based / Volume based plans remain the same for Unlimited
plans.
- What
if I forget that I have done anticipatory renewal and renew my
account again?
No need to worry!! The plans that you renew by anticipatory
renewal go in a queue. They are activated only after your current
plan expires either by way of value or validity expiry.
So, if you renew 2 plans , the first plan that you renew with
is activated first. Post expiry of that plan, the 2nd plan is
activated.
- Will
the amount be deducted even if I do not use internet on a particular
day?
Yes, the amount (rate per day) will get deducted at 0000 hours
daily.
